The Role (Responsibilities)
As An experienced US Economist, you won't just track data—you'll provide the expert interpretation that drives the bank’s market positioning.
• Fed Watch & Policy Analysis: Provide real-time, actionable insights on FOMC decisions, Federal Reserve communications, and interest rate trajectories.
• Macro Forecasting: Lead the development of sophisticated econometric models to forecast US GDP, CPI/PCE Inflation, and Labor Market (NFP) dynamics.
• Market Strategy: Partner with Fixed Income and Credit desks to translate macroeconomic shifts into concrete investment and risk strategies.
• Thought Leadership: Author top-tier daily and weekly research reports, simplifying complex economic themes for executive-level decision-makers.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
• Education: MSc or PhD in Economics or a highly quantitative field (Advanced Macroeconomics focus is essential).
• Experience: 2–7+ years of experience in Economic Research or Macro Strategy within a bank, the Federal Reserve system, or a top-tier consultancy.
• Analytical Toolkit: Mastery of Applied Econometrics and tools like EViews, Stata, R, or Python; expertise with Haver Analytics and Bloomberg.
• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills—the ability to present a compelling macro "story" to diverse audiences.
• Location: Based in New York.
